How MONA works
MONA fits the workflow you already have. Nothing changes at the camera.
Four steps
- 01A technician or nurse takes one image per eye.The patient comes in for their regular check-up. The image is taken with a fundus camera, and most patients need no pupil dilation.
- 02The images are analysed by the AI.MONA looks for signs of referable disease in each image.
- 03The result is back in seconds. It shows whether the patient should be referred to an eye specialist or can wait for their next regular check-up.
- 04The full report is ready for physician review. The report can be shared with the eye specialist. The whole process takes no more than 3 minutes.

What MONA reports
For each eye: whether referable diabetic retinopathy or diabetic maculopathy is detected, and whether there is a risk of glaucoma, with a risk score. The report can be exported as a PDF. The physician reviews it and decides.
